This tour is a nice relaxed, book on a daily basis, tour of Haast and Fiordland.

We will meet in Wellington and fly to Queenstown in the South Island where our focus will be on the Haast region and Fiordland with a little time in the resort town of Queenstown before returning to Wellington or Auckland.

Haast is an isolated, small west coast town with stunning natural scenery along the way. We’ll pass through dense west coast rain forest and stop by Thunder Creek, Fantail Creek, Blue Pools. We’ll enjoy delicious food at Big Fig in the picturesque town of Wanaka and no journey is complete without a brew at the Cardrona Pub. There are countless photo and hiking opportunities along the way.

Fiordland World Heritage National Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth. With soaring glacially cut valleys, waterfalls and of course a truly memorable cruise on the sound. We’ll explore around Manapouri, Te Anau, including a wonderful hike to Brod Bay. There are breath taking mountain views, dreamy meadows and raging rivers. Weather Permitting, a hike to Gertrude Pass with views down the Cleddau River to Milford. We’ll stop often, the photo opportunities here are endless.

New Zealand has been steadily gearing up to re-open it’s borders, though the pandemic has impacted the economy significantly. We’ll consult on a person by person basis how to get the most from your budget. I will be your personal guide and photography tutor.

Deposit US$ 1000 (50% refundable if cancellation is requested) plus US$ 200/day which will include shared transport in our car and access to professional Hasselbald digital medium format camera gear and instruction. You will walk home with some truly amazing photos. I’ll guide you through editing and offer fine art prints of your own work following the journey to New Zealand.

Accommodation, separate rental car, national park and attraction fees, cruise and ferry fares are not included.
